Torikai eggplant has been actively cultivated in the Torikai area of Settsu City from the Taisho era to the Showa era. Since a lot of water and labor are required for cultivation, the number of growers gradually decreased, and the last remaining farmer carefully protected the seeds. Even now, with a slight increase in the number of producers, there are not enough quantities on the market and it is a phantom traditional vegetable.
The Yodo and Ai rivers flow from north to south of the farm, and there is soil where good quality eggplants can be grown with abundant water resources. As a valuable local product, we will strive to cultivate and preserve it and contribute to the revitalization of the region.
